Temple of Hadrian located in Ephesus.  Ephesus is one of the best preserved Roman Empire cities and was the Roman capital of Asia Minor.

Harbour Street.  In Ephesus, as early as the third century BC, there were streetlights, sewer and water lines, and marble walkways.

The Library of Celsus contained 12,000 scrolls with a system to protect the books from humidity and temperature.

The Great Theatre could seat 25,000 people and is still used for performances.

Pamukkale, about 3 hours drive inland from the coast, is a formation of calcium cliffs and freshwater pools.  The Romans built a city here to take advantage of the curative effects of the pools.
