2004 China Itinerary

Chinese Symbol for Love
Please join our journey to China and our dear Grace! Below
is our itinerary. The cities will have links to pictures and the journals
as we update the website.
Dec 30: Leave Norfolk (at 6:00 am-ugh!)
Dec 31: Arrive in Beijing (Happy New Year!!!!)
Jan 1-Jan 2: BEIJING
We plan to see the Great Wall and Forbidden Palace. We will be at the Grand Hyatt downtown.
Jan 3: GREAT WALL SHERATON IN BEIJING
Meet CCAI group and Beijing CCAI representative at hotel for overnight stay.
Jan 4: ZHENGZHOU (GOTCHA DAY)
We fly to Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, which is 2 hours from
Luoyang where Grace is currently living. We meet our Henan Province rep. Our rep is
Daphne (many reps take English names for ease of dealing with Westerners) She
is supposed to be wonderful-several in our group had her as a rep for their
first adoptions. All the girls are brought to Zhengzhou and on that day the adoption paperwork is
filled out. Grace is given to us and she is officially our very own daughter forever!
Jan 5-8: LUOYANG
We will all, with our children, bus to Luoyang and stay there for these days
while the official adoption paperwork filed on the 5th is processed.
Jan 9-Jan 15: GUANGZHOU
We will all fly to Guangzhou and stay here while the US Consulate processes
Grace's visa. We will stay at the White Swan Hotel which is where almost all
parents and their new children stay--a tradition. There is a book written about it.
Jan 16: Leave China and the CCAI Group! (Guangzhou to Shanghai to San Francisco)
Jan 16: Overnight in SAN FRANCISCO
We could have gone straight home once we arrived in San Fran from China, but
that would mean a 12 hour wait to get the next flight, making a 36 hour trip
overall. With a 1 year old? No way! So we will stay there for a night. By
the way, as she steps onto U.S. soil Grace officially becomes a U.S. citizen!
Jan 17: Home to NORFOLK, VIRGINIA!
OUR
DAUGHTER GRACE'S REFERRAL!
