"Never Again" - a memorial at the Dachau concentration
camp, near Munich.
Another
memorial at Dachau. Over 200,000 prisoners were registered at Dachau between
1933 and 1945. Among the prisoners were Jews imprisoned for being Jewish,
priests imprisoned for vocalizing disapproval of the Nazis, POWs for getting
caught, and more. Beatings, starvation, disease and being sent to the
death camps killed more than 30,000 of Dachau's prisoners.
Munich
seems worlds away from Dachau. In the middle of the main square is the
famous clock tower with its dancing figures.
Statue in
Marienplatz, center square in Munich, Germany.
Nearby
is Theatine, a baroque style church. This Italian church dates back to
1675.
